What does facial sculpting involve?
Facial sculpting, also known as facial contouring surgery, involves a series of surgical interventions designed to restore a more defined and youthful appearance to the face. The procedures used will depend on the patient’s facial anatomy and the areas that concern them.
Typically, the procedure will involve some of the following:
Fat Transfer
Fat transfer involves removing fat from a donor site and transplanting it to another part of the face or body that requires more volume and definition. It is an excellent way to smooth away the nasolabial fold that can develop as the facial tissues lose their firmness.
In a face contouring procedure, fat is harvested as microdroplets and transplanted to enhance the natural shape of other areas of the face.
Buccal Fat Reduction
A more sculpted appearance can be created in the cheek and jowl area by the removal of the buccal fat pad. Removal of buccal fat can define the jawline and elongate the face.
The fat pad is removed through an incision on the inside of the cheek in the mouth . Local anaesthetic is used and once the pad has been removed the small incision wound is closed with sutures.
Chin implants
Chin implants can create balance for a face with a weak or recessed chin, The insertion of the implant will create a more elegant profile by elongating the angle of the neck and chin.
Insertion is relatively simple as it can be done through a small incision in the natural crease under the chin.
Microliposuction
Liposuction is a proven technique for removing stubborn pockets of unwanted fat from the body. Microliposuction is a gentler procedure that can be used with greater sensitivity to remove unwanted fat from the jowls and jawline. This procedure is an excellent solution to the problem of a double chin.
Although powered suction is available fat is removed manually during Mr Bray’s procedures as he prefers the softer results and the opportunity this technique provides to tailor the treatment to each patient’s facial anatomy.

Creating facial harmony with contouring treatments
Mr Bray also carries out these procedures on younger patients who are dissatisfied with their features and seek a more balanced facial appearance.
Am I a good candidate for facial contouring surgery?
Mr Bray offers no obligation consultations at his London clinic to patients considering facial contouring surgery.
This consultation is your opportunity to discuss your concerns and for Mr Bray to assess your facial anatomy. He will take a photograph to show how your face looks from different angles so that you can both discuss how the appearance of your face might be improved.
If Mr Bray believes that facial contouring surgery will help you, he will discuss the procedure in detail with you and advise you on the various interventions that will enhance your natural beauty.
You will be given a personalised treatment plan and Mr Bray may suggest other non surgical procedures including dermal fillers to further perfect your appearance.
How much downtime will I need after facial sculpting?
You will be a day patient and your procedures will be performed under local anaesthetic so you can leave the hospital as soon as you have recovered from your surgery – possibly within an hour.
You should expect some swelling and bruising for the first few days after treatment. Any discomfort will be easily managed with simple pain relief and ice packs are recommended to treat swelling.
Mr Bray’s team will stay in constant contact with you after your facial contouring surgery, checking on your progress and ensuring that you feel happy and confident about your recovery.
How long do the benefits of facial contouring treatment last?
The benefits of these interventions are permanent as long as you maintain a stable weight with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
It is also important to avoid sun exposure and smoking, both of which accelerate skin ageing.
